Delbert F. "Bink" Leu of Darlington, WI
Delbert F. “Bink” Leu, age 80 of Darlington, WI, passed away Tuesday, September 7, 2010 at Mercy Medical Center in Dubuque, IA. He was born November 15, 1929 in Darlington, the son of Walter and Frieda (Barth) Leu. Bink lived and farmed in Darlington Township all of his life. He was united in marriage to Mary J. Staver on July 29, 1949 at Immanuel United Church of Christ in Darlington. Following his retirement he moved into Darlington in 1997. Bink continued to help his son, Randy, farm for a number of years.

Bink is survived by his five children: Kathy Leu of St. Paul, MN, Kay (Steve) Wang of Wiota, WI, Jeff Leu of Minneapolis, MN, Randy (Rose) Leu of rural Darlington, and Rita (Jack) Wiegel of rural Woodford, WI; ten grandchildren: Dana (Brandon) Poad, Dylan Douglas, Courtney (Drew) Olson, Colin and Christopher Leu, Dusty Leu, Jamie (Lacey) Leu, Jason (Jessica) Wiegel, Josh and Justin Wiegel; three great-granddaughters: Kelsey Douglas, Alexis Leu, and Jerzey Wiegel; one brother: Paul (Shirley) Leu of rural Darlington; two sisters-in-law: Jeanie Franta and Mildred Burke both of Darlington; and two brothers-in-law: George “Butch” Ubersox of Shullsburg, WI, and Lionel “Skeeter” McNeece of Elkhorn, WI. He was preceded in death by his parents; his wife: Mary on February 10, 1989; one grandson: Aric Douglas on January 3, 2010, and one sister: Gert Pratt on October 5, 1999.

Bink was a lifelong member of Immanuel United Church of Christ in Darlington. He was a member of NRA (National Riffle Association) and served as a Lafayette County Deputy for a number years. Bink loved spending time with his family and grandchildren and will always be remembered by his family for his story telling. He had a passion for making wine, baloney sausage, and for collecting a number of items. Bink enjoyed hunting, fishing, and meeting his friends for coffee.

Funeral service will be held Friday, September 10, 2010, at 11:00 A.M. at Immanuel United Church of Christ, 339 East Louisa Street in Darlington with Rev. Bill Kapp officiating. Burial will be in Union Grove Cemetery in Darlington. A visitation will be held Thursday, September 9, 2010, from 4:00 P.M. until 8:00 P. M. at Erickson Funeral Home in Darlington. Naomi M. Glendenning of Darlington, WI
Naomi M. Glendenning, age 94 of Darlington, WI, passed away Monday, August 16, 2010, at Lafayette Manor in Darlington. She was born January 21, 1916 in Darlington Township in Lafayette County, the daughter of William and Clarinda (Taylor) Bennett. Naomi graduated from Darlington High School in 1933. She was united in marriage to Homer J. Glendenning on November 2, 1935 in Thompson, IL. Naomi lived in Darlington most of her life where she co-owned and operated Glendenning Redi-Mix in Darlington with her husband until retiring.

Naomi is survived by three children: Gerald (Kathy) Glendenning of Richmond, CA, Lawrence (Carol) Glendenning of Darlington, and Mary Kay Malone of McFarland, WI; nine grandchildren: Michael Glendenning, Steven (Jenny) Glendenning, Craig (Mercedes) Glendenning, Pamela (David) Hinderman, Kevin (Peggy) Glendenning, Greg (Brenda) Glendenning, Scott (Tara) Glendenning, Noelle (Robin) Powers, and Andrew (Karen) Malone; 16 great-grandchildren; and one step-great-granddaughter. She was preceded in death by her parents and her husband: Homer on November 24, 1993.

Naomi was a very active member of Darlington United Methodist Church and its United Methodist Women. She was a past Sunday school teacher. Naomi was also active in the S.U.N. program in Darlington. She enjoyed traveling and fishing with Homer, as well as, reading mystery novels, gardening and feeding the birds. Naomi was an avid card player. She especially enjoyed spending Christmas Eve with her family and New Years with her friends playing cards, and spending her winters in Florida. Naomi was a devoted mother and grandmother, who always had time for her family. She will be remembered for her English tea biscuits and sour cream tarts. Naomi will be sadly missed and fondly remembered by all who knew her.

Funeral service will be held Thursday, August 19, 2010, at 1:30 P.M. at Immanuel United Church of Christ, 339 East Louisa Street in Darlington with Rev. Kathleen Rinear officiating. Burial will be in Union Grove Cemetery in Darlington. A visitation will be held Thursday, August 19, 2010, from 11:30 A.M. until the time of service at the church. Kyle Perrin of Darlington, WI
Kyle Perrin, age 22 of Darlington, WI, passed away Sunday, August 15, 2010. He was born October 4, 1987 in Darlington, WI, the son of William Bredeson and Paula Perrin. Kyle graduated from Darlington High School in 2006, where he went to state three years in track, was a regional wrestling champion, and will be remembered for his exciting wrestling matches. He also enjoyed playing football. He lived in Darlington most of his life and worked at Darlington Dairy Supply. Kyle was an avid outdoorsman who loved to hunt, fish, and ride his Harley. He was a member of Seven Oaks Archery Club and qualified for and competed in multiple national and state competitions. His greatest source of joy was spending time with his new born son, Easton.

Kyle is survived by his mother: Paula Perrin; his father: William (Sheila) Bredeson of Fayette, WI; his son: Easton James Perrin, four brothers: Zachary Zradicka of Blanchardville, WI, Dylan Perrin of Darlington, and Hunter and Beau Bredeson both of Fayette; maternal grandmother: Cheryl (Keith Helm) Burris of Darlington; paternal grandfather: Donald Bredeson of Fayette; numerous aunts, uncles, cousins, and countless friends in the community. He was preceded in death by his maternal grandfather: William Perrin and paternal grandmother: Diana Bredeson.

Mass of Christian Burial will be held Friday, August 20, 2010, at 11:00 A.M. at Holy Rosary Catholic Church, 104 East Harriett Street in Darlington with Rev. David Wanish of St. Joseph’s Catholic Church in Argyle officiating. Burial will be in Holy Rosary Cemetery in Darlington. A visitation will be held Thursday, August 19, 2010, from 4:00 P.M. until 8:00 P.M. at the church. A second less formal service celebrating Kyle’s life will be held at a later date. Rose L. Horsley of Darlington, WI
Rose L. Horsley, age 86 of Darlington, WI passed away Saturday, August 7, 2010, at Lafayette Manor in Darlington. She was born March 26, 1924 in Darlington, the daughter of John and Lydia (Zumbrunnen) Barth. Rosie graduated from Darlington High School in 1941. She was united in marriage to Warren R. Horsley on May 19, 1944 at Immanuel United Church of Christ in Darlington. Rosie lived in Darlington her entire life, where she worked as a Dental Assistant for Dr. McWilliams, DDS. She also worked for McConnell-Whalen Insurance Agency and USDA Farmers Home Administration in Darlington for 30 years, retiring in 1990.

Rosie is survived by two children: John (Teresa) Horsley of Darlington and Rosalynn Horsley of Madison, WI; two grandchildren: Laura Horsley (fiancé Joe Isbell) of Dallas, TX and Amy Horsley (fiancé Edward Thompson) of Darlington; and one great-grandson: Brycen Mullen. She was preceded in death by her husband: Warren on April 23, 1981; and one brother: Oswald “Ozzie” Barth in 1987.

Rosie was a member of Immanuel United Church of Christ in Darlington and its Women’s Guild. She enjoyed spending time with her family, gardening, and quilting at her church. Rosie was known as “Gramma Rosie” by the Galena Street Gang. She will always be remembered for her volunteer work around Darlington.

Funeral service will be held Wednesday, August 11, 2010, at 11:00 A.M. at Immanuel United Church of Christ, 339 Louisa Street in Darlington with Rev. Kathleen Rinear officiating. Burial will be in Union Grove Cemetery in Darlington. A visitation will be held Tuesday, August 10, 2010, from 4:00 P.M. until 8:00 P.M. at Erickson Funeral Home in Darlington.
